Creditors Remedies
Do you have challenges dealing with collections, builder’s lien claims and construction disputes, whether making the claims, opposing them or otherwise dealing with them?
I offer over 30 years of problem solving experience for these situations. I have collected millions of dollars of unpaid claims, very often including costs and interest, and have assisted many in disputing what turned out to be either false or grossly exaggerated claims against them.
I can help you in an effective manner to deal with clients who don’t pay, people making claims against you, filing and prosecuting builder’s lien claims or having them removed from property titles and defending the claims, construction disputes and many other situations dealing with the construction industry. As a lawyer, I can provide advice to assist you with your business, staff relations and many other situations, often from a point of view you may not have thought of.
My successful approach has been to look for settlements. However, when necessary, I have taken matters to court and have many satisfied clients.
I have written 2 texts on collection of unsecured debts, and have participated in several seminars on the subject. I have assisted many out of province clients collect money from delinquent British Columbians.
Property Management
Do you or your clients require effective and experienced legal services with reference to any of your property management situations?
Do any of your clients require assistance with:
- Collection of maintenance, rent or other fees?
- Construction issues, including Builders Liens?
- Council or general meetings, by-laws or resolutions?
- Problems with owners, residents or tenants?
I am also very familiar with the drafting and interpretation of Strata Corporation bylaws, Strata Council resolutions and the conduct of meetings, both Council and general meetings. I have sat on two Strata Councils in the past, including chairing a new council for 2 years where one of the major duties was to create and adopt bylaws. I was also instrumental in 2001 in the revision of the bylaws of a Strata Corporation as a result of the enactment of the new Strata Property Act.
I also have considerable experience with reference to cooperative associations, including construction litigation and termination/eviction processes. |
